❓ FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Q: When is the best time to visit for the best photos?
A: In Ontario, the most vibrant "purple carpet" look usually happens from late June through late July. However, we have specially selected varieties that bloom at different times! You’ll find early bloomers in mid-June and often a beautiful second bloom in late August or September.

Follow us on social media for "Bloom Alerts" as we head into the 2026 season! @lavendervfarm

Q: Do I need to book a ticket in advance?
A: No booking required! We’ve opened our fields for free general admission during our regular hours (Thursday–Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm). We invite you to simply show up and enjoy the lavender at your own pace.

Note: While individuals and families are walk-ins, we do require advanced booking and a small fee for buses and groups of 12+ to ensure we have space and staff ready to welcome you.

Q: Can I bring my dog or other pets?
A: While we are animal lovers and have three dogs of our own, we have a no-pet policy at the farm. To protect our delicate lavender and ensure the safety of all guests, pets of any kind are not permitted.

Service Animal Policy:
We fully welcome service animals as defined by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Q: Is there a restroom I can use?
A: A portable washroom is available for guest use on the east side of the Boutique Store. While we strive to be welcoming to everyone, our current temporary facilities are not yet wheelchair accessible. Improving farm accessibility is a top priority for us as we continue to grow!

Q: Can I buy lavender products at the farm?
A: Yes! We have a shop right on the farm that carries everything from our own handcrafted lavender oils and bundles to specialty products from local small businesses. Come see what’s in store! We accept debit, credit, and cash. You can also visit our online store here on our website.

Q: What activities do you offer?
A: Whether you are looking for adventure or peace, there is something for everyone! Enjoy a nature walk through the valley, a stroll through the lavender fields, or a game of Bocce ball in our activity area. We also offer informational tours where you can learn more about our farm and how we grow our lavender.

We have plenty of picnic spots with umbrellas and a shaded pergola—feel free to bring your own lunch or a picnic blanket! Don't forget to visit our Boutique Store for a book or some lavender treats, and keep an eye on our website for hosted events and private bookings.

Q: Can I take pictures in the field?
A: We love seeing your memories! We encourage you to take personal photos of friends and family and share them with us on social media @lavendervfarm.

Casual Photography:
Visitors are welcome to take personal photos with cell phones or small "point-and-shoot" cameras. To maintain a peaceful environment for all guests, the following are not permitted during general admission:

  • Cameras with detachable lenses (DSLR/Mirrorless)

  • Tripods, monopods, or external lighting (reflectors/flashes)

  • Drones (Drone use requires a full field rental and prior written consent)

A Little Note on "Amateur" Photography:
We often hear, "I’m just an amateur taking photos of my kids!" We think that’s wonderful—but to keep things fair and focused on tranquility, our policy is based on the equipment, not the photographer. If your "amateur" setup includes a detachable lens, a tripod, or a drone, a professional license is required regardless of who is in front of the lens. No exceptions, please!

Professional Photography:
A photo license fee and prior booking are required for all professional, commercial, or staged photography. If you are hiring a professional or are a photographer yourself, please visit the Photographer Section of our website for licensing details and our list of recommended local pros.

Q: Can I bring my own picnic lunch?
A: Absolutely! We love seeing guests enjoy a meal in the fresh air. While we provide several picnic tables and a shaded pergola on a first-come, first-served basis, our lavender fields are in full sun. We highly recommend bringing a picnic blanket, sunhats, sunscreen, and even your own folding chairs to ensure you have a comfortable spot to relax and take in the views.

Q: Is there parking available at the farm?
A: Yes! We have plenty of on-site parking for our guests. When you arrive, please follow the signs to our designated parking area.

Note for Large Vehicles: If you are traveling by limo, motorcoach, or bus, please note that an advanced booking is required to ensure we have a dedicated space and turnaround area ready for your arrival. You can book your group visit by emailing us at lavendervfarm@gmail.com.

Q: Can I rent the farm for a private event?
A: Yes! We would love to host your special occasion. Our farm provides a stunning backdrop for baby and bridal showers, private picnics, intimate boutique weddings, celebration of life ceremonies, and more.

We offer exclusive "Golden Hour" bookings from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM, Thursday through Sunday, allowing you and your guests to enjoy the fields during the most beautiful light of the day. To start planning your event, please contact us at lavendervfarm@gmail.com.
