Frequently asked questions

1. When is the best time to visit a Lavender Farm in Ontario? The best time to visit a lavender farm is typically mid- to late summer, usually around mid-June to mid-July, when the lavender is in full bloom and the fields are at their most vibrant purple color; however, exact timing can vary we have some plants that bloom very early and get a second bloom late August/September.

2. Do I need to book a ticket in advance? Yes! We are a small family run farm and are open on select weekend from 10am-4pm with 2 daily time slots. You can book your tickets and pick your date and time on our website through the link at the top of this page. For Lavender Valley Hosted events all tickets will need to be pruchased online, click on SPECIAL EVENTS in our menu. If you would like to book a private event click on PRIVATE EVENTS in our menu and send us an email with all your details.

3. Can I buy tickets on site to visit the farm? ​​We strongly encourage you to book online in advance for guarenteed access, however when space allows you can purchase a ticket on site at an additional cost of $2 per person bringing the farm access price up to $12+HST.  ​

4. Can I bring my dog? We love dogs as we have 3 of our own however, ONLY Service Animals are permitted at the farm. Please bring your documents and your pet must wear its vest.

5. Are there washrooms on site? ​ Yes, we have a portable washroom located on the east side of the Studio store. We regret to inform our visitors that our washroom facilities are currently not wheelchair accessible or designed to meet accessibility standards. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are committed to exploring solutions to improve accessibility in the future. ​

6. Do you have a store on the farm? Yes, we have an onsite store that sells our Lavender products among other products from local merchants.

7. What is there to do at the farm? Take a short nature walk through our valley to a beautiful open picnic area. At Lavender Valley Farm it is all about relaxation and traquility - guests can enjoy a stroll through our lavender fields, bring a lunch and have a picnic at our picnic tables located both in the field with our white fringed umbrella's or under our shaded marquee tent area. Guests may also bring a blanket and pick a spot to enjoy your picnic. Guests can capture memories of your visit at many picture perfect spots. Enjoy our games area of Bocce ball, corn hole and more. Or borrow a book from our boutique shop's library. Explore our studio shop with a variety of natural lavender products! We also offer LVF hosted events and private bookings. 8. Can I take pictures in the field? Yes! We encourage you take photos of friends and family and share them on our social feeds @lavendervfarm. Permitted Photography Casual Photography: Visitors are welcome to take personal photos for non-commercial use with the following devices: Cell phones Small, pocket-sized personal cameras (e.g., point-and-shoot cameras without detachable lenses) As a paid visitor and individual there is no photo license fee required. A photo license fee is required for a Professional photographer. If you would like to hire a professional photographer you can contact us for a list of recommended local professionals or ask your photographer to visit our Photographer section in our menu for information on obtaining a license fee. Prohibited Equipment The following equipment is not allowed without prior approval and the purchase of a professional photography license: Cameras with detachable lenses (e.g., DSLR or mirrorless cameras) Tripods, monopods, or other stabilizing equipment External lighting equipment (e.g., flashes, reflectors) Drones or any aerial photography devices Large or professional-grade cameras designed for commercial or professional use No drone fly-overs or drone photgraphy permitted during business hours. Drone photgraphy requires Lavender Valley Farm's prior written consent and a full field rental is required. Please visit our Photographer section.

9. Can I bring my own picnic lunch? Yes! We encourage you to pack a lunch and plan a picnic while you enjoy the grounds during your visit. While we have picnic tables and shaded areas, we recommend you bring a blanket, sunhat, sunscreen, and folding chairs as our Lavender is in full sun and shaded areas are first come first serve.

10. Can I rent the farm for a private event? Yes, we do rent the farm for baby/wedding showers, picnics, elopments & celebration of Life ceramonies and more! Contact us at lavendervfarm@gmail.com to start planning your special event.
